A bilingual actress of Japanese and Irish heritage, Megumi was born in Kentucky and spent her childhood in Japan and England.
She began acting at the age of six on a Japanese morning television program, where she sang "Bingo!" as part of a sing-a-long segment. She began acting in plays in England and decided to pursue the arts upon her move to the US. Performing in school shows and New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse's Summer Conservatories, Megumi continued her education at Emerson College, where she received a BA in Acting & Theatre Education.
Megumi is passionate about inclusive casting and fair representation for POC in the arts and continues to be an outspoken advocate. She is best known for Orange is the New Black, Mysteries of Laura and Younger. A proud member of SAG-AFTRA Megumi resides in Brooklyn with her husband.

Wrote and produced my very first short film! Co-directed by myself and Brett Kodama, my film Roof, explores what the meaning of home from four friends perspective, as they come together after a typical, but trying day. We are hoping to enter this film for HBO's APA Visionaries contest!
Busy time!! Have been working steadily on a new project that I'm very excited about. We go into production next month, with shoot dates scheduled for early October. More details to come!
